PENTATONE celebrates 20 years with a new mini-series
PENTATONE celebrates the 20 years of its foundation in 2001 by launching a mini-series of releases, presenting the 20 years of the company’s catalog.
In a statement, Managing Director Simon M. Eder said: “I am delighted that we are celebrating 20 years of PENTATONE this fall, as the future of the brand has never been brighter. In two decades of existence, PENTATONE has established its position as the world leader of independent labels, strengthening its artistic relevance and extending its international reach.
The series will delve into tracks and movements that have not only inspired and captured audiences since their original release, but also beautiful tracks that arguably missed their chance to be brought to light the first time around.
The first part of the series will be “Spritz: Celebrating Concerto Music” with recordings by Alisa Weilerstein, Johannes Moser, Arabella Steinbacher and Denis Kozhukhin.
The second part of the series will be “Frizzante: Celebrating Vocal Music” with singers Piotr Beczala, Magdalena Kožená, Lise Davidsen, Ian Bostridge and Ann Hallenberg.
Audiences can hear the episode “Limoncello: Celebrating Chamber Music” with artists such as Julia Fischer, Martin Helmchen, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Francesco Piemontesi, the Emerson String Quartet and Signum Quartett.
Finally, the series ends with “Spätburgunder: Celebrating Orchestral Music” featuring works by Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Bruckner.
All episodes are now available.
PENTATONE was founded in 2001 by former leaders of Philips Classics, with the ambition to deliver classical music of the highest quality.
