“Seattle Opera and Pacific Northwest Ballet are united in their support of peace for the people of Ukraine and for displaced Ukrainian artists who have been prevented by war from earning a living and practicing their art safely,” said Seattle Opera General Manager Christina Scheppelmann. , in an official press release. “The best thing we can do as arts organizations is to ensure that these artists have food, shelter and the means to continue to pursue their life’s purpose: to create art that enriches their communities and elevates the human spirit.

The concert will include soloists such as Ukrainian mezzo Olga Syniakova, who will perform Ukrainian folk songs. There will also be music by Saint-Saëns, Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Prokofiev, Copland and Shtoharentko.
