Soprano will perform at Hinckley Church

A talented soprano is due to perform at the upcoming midday concert at St Mary’s Church in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Top vocalist Michelle Garrard earned an 8th grade honors in voice and is a private voice teacher with a passion for helping people achieve musical purpose.

She will make her debut at St Mary’s Arts (SMARTS) Lunchtime Concert next month.

At the age of 13, Michelle received a scholarship from Trinity College of Music in London as part of their Saturday Music program, which she followed until she started working at 16.

She has held positions as choirmaster with the Salvation Army in Luton and Milton Keynes.

For the past eight years she has been Music Director of the Dagnall Community Choir and following her move to the Midlands she was appointed Music Director of the Hinckley Choral Union.

She will sing at the church accompanied by Chris Howard.

Their program ranges from light classical music to popular music and musical theatre, including works by Schubert, Schumann, Quilter, Rutter, Faure, Rodgers and Hammerstein and Lerner and Loewe.

The concert is April 6 at 1 p.m.

Gate entry is £4.50 for adults and £1 for children and students.

Light refreshments are available at the church cafe-bar before the concert.
