The Children’s Orchestra hopes to benefit from the 24-hour ‘225GIVES Day’ donation
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – “225GIVES Day” The 24-hour donation-a-thon kicks off and local nonprofits are gearing up for what is set to be the biggest giving day of the year.
The Kids’ Orchestra is one of 200+ non-profit organizations in need of your help. Advisory board member Kelly Hurtado said any freebies are helpful.
“This money will help children who cannot afford school fees. It will also help us pay the teachers, ”Hurtado said.
Through 225GIVES, their mission is to raise funds that will help meet their needs and give children the gift of music and more.
“We want them to be creative. We want them to be socially and emotionally engaged and we believe music education does all of this for kids, ”Hurtado said.
Advance donations began on November 15, but now is the 24 hour donation-a-thon time.
225GIVES began in 2020 during the pandemic at a time when many were out of work. Yet people have found ways to donate over $ 2.7 million.
“The pandemic continues to cause problems for our nonprofit and fundraising organizations. We have had incredible natural disasters again this year in our region and our state. It hasn’t been easier for these groups, but we hope tomorrow will be a little easier for them, ”said Ethan Bush, advisor to Trility Partners.
Whichever organization you choose, Hurtado said they were all grateful to receive the gift of giving.
“It’s huge, it’s huge. We should be so proud of ourselves as a community for coming together and contributing to these many worthy nonprofits, ”Hurtado said.
