Niagara Falls has something to sing about!

Puccini’s masterpiece “La Bohème” will be on stage at the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 21 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 23.

The organizers said: “This passionate, timeless and indelible love story between young Parisian artists may establish itself as the most beautiful and popular opera ever written in the world. Sung in Italian, the story follows the lives of artists who have taken up residence in the Latin Quarter of Paris.

“This is the first time that an opera event of such magnitude has taken place on the stage of the former high school that has become a multi-arts centre. However, the NACC has been preparing for it for years by celebrating International Opera Day every year with live concerts and performances by local singers. This year, the two will be combined. The performance will feature not only the rich, vibrant and soaring voices of Jenna Washburn, Karen D’Angelo, James Judd, Brandon Mecklenburg, Kyle Botsford, Timothy Flynn and Stephen Edge, but also an orchestra conducted by James Welsh.

“This performance is only two days long and will raise funds for the restoration of the historic building – and will help the arts center continue its mission of bringing artistic and cultural experiences to the community.”

Tickets are now available at Fortuna’s Restaurant, Webster’s Bistro and NACC.

Each location also offers special dinners and free shuttle service to the event.
