The Tahoe Orchestra is organizing 4 shows starting Thursday at Incline Village
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nevada – The TOCCATA Tahoe Symphony Orchestra starting this week will host a series of concerts, including performances in South Lake Tahoe and Incline Village.
A 50-person choir will celebrate Independence Day with popular and patriotic music with the first of four shows taking place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 1 at the Chateau at Incline Village.
Tickets are $ 25 to $ 40 and the event is free for those under 24.
âThis series will provide much anticipated family home evenings to celebrate our country’s veterans, American independence and the return of better times to come,â a press release said.
Local soloists for the event include Truckee’s Robert Bousquet and his sophomore daughter, Emily. They will perform a new duo during this concert, âLa Prayerâ, popularized by Andrea Bocelli and Céline Dion, accompanied by a full orchestra. Les Bousquets reached out to many families online over the holidays with their touching recording of âO Holy Night,â which topped NextDoor audiences in December and has been viewed over 3,556 times and counts.
âPerformance has always been a passion for us,â said Robert Bousquet in the statement. âBut this performance in particular feels different, somehow more impactful after the last year and more time away from family and friends. This show will be the perfect way to celebrate the return of summer and reconnect with your neighbors and friends you probably haven’t seen in a while – to music we all love.
Other orchestral and Broadway selections will include âBugler’s Holiday,â âAmerica the Beautiful,â âBattle Hymn of the Republic,â a stick auction, as well as selections from operas by Verdi and Puccini.
These events were made possible by donations from New Leaders, Truckee Tahoe Airport, Truckee Lumber, Truckee Community Foundation and individual donors. Donations will be accepted at events for free seating.
